UPDATE ON COVID-19
(As of July 15, 2021)
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, please know that we are committed to the health and well-being of our families, guests, staff and community.
We at the Sifton Funeral Home continue to monitor directives from Health Canada, the Province of Ontario, the Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO), and the Southwestern Public Health Unit in order to keep you protected, while ensuring you and your family receive the level of service expected of our firm.
Note: Effective July 16, 2021, the Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO) is issuing the following Registrar's Directive in alignment with the Government of Ontario's Step Three of its Roadmap to Reopen, https://thebao.ca/registrars-directive-capacity-limits-removed-physical-distancing-mask-wearing-requirements-remain/. Funeral services and visitations inside all funeral establishments, places of worship or any other indoor setting are permitted, with physical distancing of two metres between people. Screening and logging of guests for contact tracing. People may be asked to remain in their vehicles until permitted to enter the facilities. Also, the BAO currently states that properly wearing masks or face coverings is mandatory for all persons (funeral staff and attendees) inside all funeral establishments or any other indoor setting where a funeral or visitation is held. Physical distancing of two metres between people must also be maintained at outdoor funeral services and visitations including graveside services. All BAO licensed operators are allowed to be more strict if they wish regarding access (For example, if they desire, cemeteries can permit fewer people in attendance). Indoors and outdoors, all attendees and staff must adhere to local public health unit restrictions.
Be assured that we are, as always, available 24/7 to help you through difficult times following the death of a loved one. We can assist with arrangements by phone and email should you prefer to stay in your own home.
We will continue to celebrate and honour the lives of those we are privileged to serve.
We continue to encourage friends and family to express their condolences through our website and we will ensure these are shared and provided to family members.
Your understanding, cooperation and patience is very much appreciated.
