UPDATE ON COVID-19
(As of December 24, 2020)
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, please know that we are committed to the health and well-being of our families, guests, staff and community.
Please know that we at the Sifton Funeral Home continue to monitor directives from Health Canada, the Province of Ontario, the Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO), and the Southwestern Public Health Unit in order to keep you protected, while ensuring you and your family receive the level of service expected of our firm.
Note: Please refer to the November 20, 2020 directive of the Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO), https://thebao.ca/registrars-directive-bao-additional-restrictions-for-bereavement-sector/ . On the directive page, hover over and click 'BAO's new chart.' Effective December 26, 2020, our community and the Province fall under Grey-Lockdown. Funeral services and visitations inside all funeral establishments, places of worship or any other indoor setting are limited to a maximum number of 10 guests in the entire facility, while maintaining two-metre physical distancing between attendees. Attendance must be scheduled by appointment only, as well as screening and logging of guests. The funeral establishment must have 1 staff member for every 10 guests. People may be asked to remain in their vehicles until permitted to enter the facilities, as the BAO does not permit congregating in a parking lot outside of vehicles. Also, the BAO and the Southwestern Public Health Unit currently state that properly wearing masks or face coverings is mandatory for all persons (funeral staff and attendees) inside all funeral establishments or any other indoor setting where a funeral or visitation is held. Outdoor funeral services and visitations including graveside services are also limited to a maximum number of 10 attendees.
Be assured that we are, as always, available 24/7 to help you through difficult times following the death of a loved one. We can assist with arrangements by phone and email should you prefer to stay in your own home.
We will continue to celebrate and honour the lives of those we are privileged to serve.
We continue to encourage friends and family to express their condolences through our website and we will ensure these are shared and provided to family members.
Your understanding, cooperation and patience is very much appreciated.
