Obituary of Beatrix "Bea" "Trixie" Horn

Of Metcalfe Gardens, St. Thomas, passed away peacefully at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Monday, December 5, 2022, in her 92nd year. Bea was born in Carnduff, SK, January 1, 1931, to Gilbert and Rosa (née Harris) Horn. She is fondly remembered by her cousins, nieces, nephews, and their families, and dear friends, Donna Kerrigan, and Sharon Parker.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by five sisters, three brothers, and her best friend, Joyce “Joy” Sanderson.

 

Bea worked as a psychologist at the St. Thomas Psychiatric Hospital for 30 years until her retirement.  She was an avid photographer, and with her sister Joicey and friend Joy, travelled the world.  Bea was a member of St. Andrew’s United Church, St. Thomas, and a past member of the St. Thomas Photographic Guild and the St. Thomas Field Naturalists.

 

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and her cremated remains will be placed in the Scattering Garden at the Old St. Thomas Churchyard at a later date. Memorial donations to the Huntington Society of Canada or St. Andrew’s United Church will be gratefully acknowledged.
