LAWRENCE, Martha (née Staniforth)- Of St. Thomas, passed away at her residence on Saturday, December 15, 2018, in her 71st year. Beloved wife of Larry Lawrence. Dearly loved mother of Mike Lawrence of Sioux Lookout, Mark Lawrence (Stephanie Flynn) of London, and Carl Lawrence (Tracy Matthews) of St. Thomas. Cherished grandmother of Leah, Brett, Hailey, Sheldon, and Shae-Lynn. She is also remembered by several great grandchildren, in-laws, Bonnie and Paul Hodges of St. Thomas, and Peggy Goodall of Lyons, several nieces and nephews, and dear friends, Nancy LaPlante of Fingal, and Susan Griggs of St. Thomas. Martha was born in St. Thomas on July 15, 1948. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Staniforth and the late Nona (née Young) Hehir. Martha was a retired housekeeping staff member at Caressant Care on Bonnie Place, St. Thomas. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A public memorial service will be held at the SIFTON FUNERAL HOME, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Saturday, December 22nd at 3:30 p.m. Relatives and friends will be received by the family one hour prior to the service. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario will be gratefully acknowledged.
