WILLIAMS, Jean (née Gardner), of St. Thomas, passed away at the Elgin Manor, R.R.#1, St. Thomas on Sunday, December 16, 2018, in her 79th year. Loving wife for 58 years to Finley “Sonny” Williams. Dear mother of Debra Remus (Dennis), Richard and Jim Williams, Kathy Edgar (Robert), all of St. Thomas, and the late Teresa Peterson. Also fondly remembered by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Jean was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been predeceased by four sisters; Elizabeth “Dolly”, Marguerite, Helen and Doris, and by two brothers; Donald and Arthur. Born in London, ON, July 19, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Winnifred (née Turner) Gardner. Jean attended St. Andrew’s United Church, St. Thomas. Relatives and friends will be received by the family at the SIFTON FUNERAL HOME, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Wednesday, Dec. 19th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 20th at 1:00 p.m. Following cremation, interment in St. Thomas Cemetery, West Avenue will take place at a later date. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or the charity of one’s choice will be gratefully acknowledged.
