BOTTLER, Helen E. (née Gibbs), of St. Thomas, passed away at her residence, Caressant Care on Mary Bucke on Monday, November 5, 2018, in her 91st year.  Beloved wife of the late Jack Bottler (2011).  Helen is fondly remembered by several nieces, nephews and their families.  She was the last surviving member of her own immediate family, having been predeceased by three sisters, Christine Ley, Jessie Martin, and Evelyn Brant, and by a brother, Stanley A. Gibbs.  Born in Toronto, ON, February 26, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Helen Jane “Nellie” (née Munro) Gibbs.  Helen was a retired health care employee of Scarborough, Ontario Support Services.  She and Jack moved to St. Thomas from Toronto in 1988.  Helen formerly attended Knox Presbyterian Church, St. Thomas.  She was a member and a past treasurer of Mystic Link Rebekah Lodge #104, Toronto, a former volunteer at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, and a former associate member of Lord Elgin Branch #41, Royal Canadian Legion, St. Thomas.  In keeping with Helen’s wishes, a private graveside service was held at Elmdale Memorial Park.  If so desired, memorial donations to the charity of one’s choice will be appreciated.  Arrangements entrusted to the SIFTON FUNERAL HOME, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).  The relatives would like to thank the nurses and staff at Caressant Care on Mary Bucke for their many years of compassionate care to Helen.

 

Funeral Arrangements

In keeping with Helen's wishes, a private graveside service was held at Elmdale Memorial Park, St. Thomas.
