WILLIAMSON, David, of Central Elgin, R.R.#2, St. Thomas, passed away peacefully at Elgin Manor on Saturday, September 15, 2018, in his 90th year. Beloved husband for 58 years to Rae (née McLetchie) Williamson. Dearly loved father of Dan Williamson of Toronto, Janet Williamson, and Frank Williamson (Susan) all of St. Thomas. Cherished grandfather “Gump” of Jesse and Greyson Tottle, Nicole and Amy Williamson. Also fondly remembered by several nieces, nephews and their families. David was the last surviving member of his own immediate family, having been predeceased by two brothers; Tom and Jack, and by two sisters; Muriel and Joyce. Born in Vermilion, AB, February 6, 1929, he was the son of the late Frank and Eva (née Beckett) Williamson. David formerly taught woodworking at Saunders Secondary School, London, as well as at both the London and St. Thomas Campus of Fanshawe College. He was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, St. Thomas, where he was an Elder Emeritus. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate David’s life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 55 Hincks Street, St. Thomas on Friday, September 21st at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception in Rodney Hall. Relatives and friends will be received by the family for 1 hour prior to the service. Memorial donations to Knox Presbyterian Church will be gratefully acknowledged.
