LUOTO, Barbara (née Slatford), a resident of St. Thomas, ON since 1972, formerly of Montréal, QC, passed away at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, in her 81st year.  Beloved wife for 56 years to Paul Luoto.  Sister of John “Jack” Slatford (Linda).  Dearly loved aunt of Krista Campbell (Aaron), Craig Slatford, and Keith Slatford.  She was proud of her great niece, Ella Campbell.  Born in Montréal, QC, November 21, 1937, she was the daughter of the late John and Christina (née Bardell) Slatford.  Barbara was a former hostess with the Hi Neighbour program in St. Thomas for a number of years.  Relatives and friends will be received at the SIFTON FUNERAL HOME, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Wednesday evening, July 18th from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service.  The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 19th at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment in Elmdale Memorial Park.  Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or the charity of one’s choice will be gratefully acknowledged.  Special thanks to the doctors’, nurses and staff in the I.C.U. at the STEGH for their compassionate care.
