Obituary of Linda Jane Simmons (nee Murphy)

Of St. Thomas, ON, passed away peacefully at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, in her 66th year.  Beloved wife for 38 years to Grant Simmons, and dearly loved mother of Craig Simmons. Linda is also survived by her brother, Larry Murphy (Wendy) and his family, as well as her aunt, Gladys Mott, and many cousins.

Born in Windsor, ON, March 2, 1959, she was the daughter of the late William “Bill” and Velma (née Barber) Murphy. Growing up in St. Thomas, Linda attended Grace United Church and in latter years, Knox Presbyterian Church.

For the past 20 months, Linda resided at the Valleyview Home (Wabash) in St. Thomas, and Grant and Craig are very grateful for the care she received.

A private graveside service at Elmdale Memorial Park. Memorial donations to the charity of one’s choice will be gratefully acknowledged. Arrangements entrusted to the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).
