Obituary of Robert J. Ewart

EWART, Robert J. “Bob”, of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully at LHSC, University Hospital on Thursday, September 28, 2017, in his 84th year.  Beloved husband for over 62 years to the late Barbara (née Towers) Ewart (Feb. 28, 2017).  Dearly loved father of Brian Ewart (Sue) of London, and Jim Ewart (Joanne) of St. Thomas.  Cherished grandfather of Tyler Ewart (Crystal), Cory Ewart, all of London, and Kyle Ewart (Meghan) of St. Thomas.  Bob was proud of his 5 great grandchildren, Jassy, Raivyn, Tyson, Londyn, and Victoria.  Also fondly remembered by in-laws, Lloyd Campbell, Donna Ewart, and Ken and Lois Towers, all of St. Thomas, several nieces and nephews and their families, as well as his friends at the Wellington Street apartments.  Bob was the last surviving member of his own immediate family, having been predeceased by sisters, Nickie “Bunty” Jordan and Maryjane “Mary” Campbell, and by a brother, John Ewart.  Born in Yarmouth Twp., ON, January 5, 1934, he was the son of the late Joseph and Maryjane “Molly” (née Mein) Ewart.  Bob was a retired assistant materials manager at Eaton Yale, St. Thomas.  He enjoyed golfing, and was a former member of the Aylmer Curling Club.  A public memorial service will be held at the SIFTON FUNERAL HOME, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Monday, October 2nd at 11:00 a.m.  Interment of his cremated remains will be made privately in Elmdale Memorial Park.  Relatives and friends will be received by the family at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon, October 1st from 2:00-5:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the memorial service.  Flowers respectfully declined.  Memorial donations to the Aylmer Curling Club or the Kidney Foundation of Canada will be gratefully acknowledged.
