Obituary of Audre Smith (nee Gorvett)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the loss of our mother, Audre Smith on October 1, 2023, in her 91^st year. Audre was the beloved wife of the late Wray K. Smith (2006). They farmed together at R.R.#6, St Thomas for many years. A loving and devoted mother and grandmother of Shelley (Dan), Erin, Joel and Ian, Gary (Cathy), Janis and Lisa, Heather (Garry), Nicole, Robin and Leta, Marcie (Dave), Alicia and Jordan, Colleen (late Brian), Corina, Kaye and Celine, Jeffrey (Darleen), Nolan and Evan. She was dedicated to her 14 great grandchildren and will be loved by them always. A dear sister of the late Shirley (late Ron) and also remembered by sisters-in-law, Doreen and Donna, many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Born in Yarmouth Township, ON, May 13, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Edith (née Shelley) Gorvett. Audre was a member of Talbotville United Church and a longtime member of Townline United Church. She was actively dedicated to the Rebekahs at Glanworth and later Belmont Lodges. Audre's heart was forever in her gardens and she cherished every flower.

Relatives and friends will be received by the family at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington Street, St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Friday, October 13, 2023 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. A service to celebrate Audre's life will be held at Talbotville United Church, 10734 Sunset Road, Talbotville on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Private interment in Elmdale Memorial Park.
