JONES, Kenneth M. “Ken”, of St. Thomas, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Monday, January 29, 2018, in his 89th year. Husband of Teddi (née Galloway) Jones. Father of Debbie (Ivor) of England, Penny and Elaine, both of St. Thomas, and Sarah of Toronto. Grandfather of Pete, Kate, Luke, Briar and Jackson. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Ken was the last surviving member of his own immediate family, having been predeceased by sisters, Clara Ashmore and Margaret Williams, and by brothers Robert and Ronald Jones. Born in St. Thomas, April 8, 1929, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Florence “Flossie” (née Dewar) Jones. A retired teacher, Ken taught at both elementary and high schools in St. Thomas and Oshawa. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Ken’s life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 55 Hincks St., St. Thomas on Thursday, February 8th at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception in Rodney Hall. Interment of Ken’s cremated remains will be made privately in Fingal Cemetery. Memorial donations to the charity of one’s choice will be gratefully acknowledged.
