Obituary of John D. Ross

ROSS, John D., of St. Thomas, formerly of RR1, Southwold, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, in his 68^th year.  Born in St. Thomas, ON, December 30, 1950, John embodied his beliefs by working the land sustainably as an organic farmer while pursuing a life-long love of learning. Dear son of Velma “Val” (née Newman) Ross of St. Thomas, and the late D. A. “Arn” Ross (1991).  Beloved father of Katarina “Katie” England Ross (Joseph Meuwissen) of London, and Vanessa England Ross (Justin Cassels Lionson) of Oakville.  Dear brother of Dan Ross (Martha) of Port Stanley, and Roy Ross of St. Thomas.  John is also fondly remembered by several aunts, nieces, and cousins.  Cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation.  A private service for the immediate family will be held at the SIFTON FUNERAL HOME, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).  Memorial donations to the Nature Conservancy of Canada will be gratefully acknowledged.
