Obituary of Sharon Roffel (nee Fowler)

Of St. Thomas, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Thursday, October 20, 2022, in her 72nd year. Loving wife for 43 years to the late Robert G. “Rob” Roffel (2015). Amazing mother to Dustin Roffel of St. Thomas. Dearly loved sister of Gail Robertson (Ron) of Lambeth, and Charlie Fowler (Pat) of Komoka. A brother, Stephen Fowler predeceased her. Sharon is also remembered by in-laws, Ken and Eileen Roffel of BC, and by her nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families. She loved her dogs, Sunshine and Kage.

 

Sharon was born in St. Thomas, ON, March 24, 1951, a daughter of the late Albert “Bert” and Kathleen “Kay” (née Simmons) Fowler. She worked for the Elgin-St. Thomas Health Unit for a number of years.

 

Relatives and friends will be welcomed at a reception to celebrate Sharon’s life on Thursday, October 27th between the hours of 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Masonic Centre of Elgin, 42703 Fruit Ridge Line, St. Thomas.  A private graveside service will be held at Elmdale Memorial Park. If so desired, memorial donations to an animal related charity of your choice will be appreciated.  Arrangements entrusted to the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).

 

Special thanks to Sharon’s family physician, Dr. Aric Sudicky and neighbours, Kathleen and Len for their compassionate care and support.
