Obituary of Marie Dicker (nee Graham)

Formerly of St. Thomas, passed away at her residence, the Elgin Manor, RR1, St. Thomas, on Friday, May 20, 2022, in her 92nd year.   Wife of the late Joseph D. Dicker (1999).  Step-mother of Leslie Grabb (Christopher) of Spring Bay, and Joseph Dicker of Essex.  Grandmother of Kevin Grabb (Yeonju) of South Korea, and Ian Grabb (Jennifer) of Hamilton.  Great grandmother of Dain and Wilder.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews.  Marie was predeceased by 5 sisters and 3 brothers.  Born in Toronto, ON, October 20, 1930, she was a daughter of the late William John “Jack” and Pearl (née Fisher) Graham.  Marie was a retired elementary school teacher with the Elgin County Board of Education.  She was a member of the Retired Teachers of Ontario and a former member of Talbotville United Church.  Marie greatly enjoyed music and also had a love for budgies and wild birds.

 

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place.  A private family memorial service will be held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington Street, St. Thomas (519-631-1160) with interment at Fingal Cemetery to follow. All in attendance are kindly asked to wear a mask.  Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged.

 

Sincere appreciation is expressed to Pam Graham and the late Randy Graham, Dr. Brendan Boyd, and the nurses and staff at Elgin Manor for their kindness and compassionate care of Marie.

 

Arrangements
