Of St. Thomas, passed away at LHSC, University Hospital on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, in her 76th year.  Beloved wife of William “Bill” Vincent.  Dearly loved mother of Cathy Debeck (Dan) of St. Thomas, Tim Bogart (Rhonda) and Teresa Baxter (Greg), all of Aylmer.  Loving step-mother of the late Angela Abdey (2021). Cherished grandmother of Jason, Justin (Lauren), Josh (Blu), Kodi, Keenan, Jamie, Jesse, Matthew, and Cynthia. Proud great grandmother of Kaiden, Matthew, Lydia, Lily, Blair, Spencer, Alora, Ariella, Kali, and Halle.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  Ruth was the last surviving member of her own immediate family.  Born in St. Thomas, ON, January 23, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Bessie (née Nevill) Player.  Ruth was a retired employee of Therm-O-Disc, St. Thomas. 

In keeping with her wishes, cremation took place and a private graveside service was held at Sparta Cemetery.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a casual reception to celebrate Ruth’s life on Sunday, July 17th between the hours of 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the St. Thomas Seniors’ Centre, 225 Chestnut St., St. Thomas.

 

Memorial donations to Pets/Friends for Life will be gratefully acknowledged. Arrangements entrusted to the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).
