Obituary of Blake A. Rieger

RIEGER, Blake A., of R.R.1, Port Stanley, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, in his 75th year.  Beloved husband of Carol (née Stinson) Rieger.  Dearly loved father of Brian Rieger (Tammy), and Craig Rieger (Marieke), all of Shedden.  Cherished grandfather of Jeff, Josh and Brad Rieger.  Dear brother of Ross Rieger (Carole), Ray Rieger (Linda), all of R.R.1, Port Stanley, and Sally Butcher (Michael) of London.  Also survived by many in-laws, several aunts and uncles, as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.  Born in Leamington, ON, April 8, 1943, he was the son of the late Carl and Edna (née White) Rieger.  Blake farmed and also formerly worked at Essex Wire/United Technologies, St. Thomas and Tecumseh Products, Aylmer.  A private family funeral service will be held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).  Interment in Hunter Cemetery, Southwold Twp.  Memorial donations to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada will be gratefully acknowledged.
