Obituary of Ruth M. Prowse

PROWSE, Ruth M. - Formerly of St. Thomas and the Rodney area, passed away at her residence, Chartwell Aylmer on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, in her 98^th year.  Ruth is fondly remembered by her cousins, Tanis Service and her husband Gerry of Rialto, CA and Lyall Rombough and his wife Carol of Breadalbane, P.E.I., as well as her dear friends, Gayle and Wayne Cudney, and Drucilla and Dave Paul, all of St. Thomas.  Predeceased by a cousin, James W.E. “Jim” Sackville and her dear friend, Ruth Griffiths.  Born in St. Thomas, ON, October 27, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Adrian and Edna (née Sackville) Prowse.  Ruth was a retired Deputy Chief Librarian with the Elgin County Public Library.  She was a former member of Quota Club International of St. Thomas and Maple Leaf Chapter #3, Order of the Eastern Star, St. Thomas.  For many years, Ruth was quite active in the scouting movement in St. Thomas.  In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service.  Ruth’s cremated remains will be interred privately in Elmdale Memorial Park.  Memorial donations to Animal Aide will be appreciated.  Arrangements entrusted to the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).
