Obituary of Phyllis Jacobs (nee Rockey)
JACOBS, Phyllis (née Rockey), of St. Thomas, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Alick H. Jacobs (Nov. 6, 2001). She is survived by several nieces and nephews in Ontario and British Columbia. Phyllis was the last surviving member of her own immediate family, having been predeceased by a sister, Irene Wiley, and by brothers, Russell Rockey, Douglas Rockey, and (infant) Harold Rockey. Born in Mount Salem, Ontario, April 20, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Wilson and Ethel (née Holmes) Rockey. Phyllis resided all of her life in St. Thomas and Aylmer area. She was a retired payroll and accounting clerk. Phyllis was a member of Centre Street Baptist Church, St. Thomas. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral service. Private interment in Aylmer Cemetery. Memorial donations to the charity of one’s choice will be gratefully acknowledged.
