Obituary of Phyllis Bouffard (nee Booker)

BOUFFARD, Phyllis (née Booker), of St. Thomas, formerly of Montreal, QC, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, in her 78th year.  Sister of Marie Hutchings of St. Thomas, Dorothy Brown of St. Thomas, Sandra Minor (Paul) of Sparta, and Ernest Booker of Pakenham.  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Phyllis was predeceased by three sisters; Leatha Gowanlock, Ruth Roberts, and Josephine “Jo” Morris, by two brothers; Bill and David Booker (Doreen of Windsor), by five brother-in-laws; George Gowanlock, Charles Roberts, Vernon Hutchings, Stewart Brown, and Garry Morris, and by a sister-in-law, Wanda Booker.  Born in St. Thomas, ON, June 8, 1940, she was the daughter of the late O. William “Bill” and Ella (née Lumley) Booker.  Phyllis was a former employee of Starwood Hotels, St. Thomas, following her retirement from the Bank of Nova Scotia, where she worked for 34 years.  She was a member of the former Sparta Baptist Church.  In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place.  A public memorial service will be held at the SIFTON FUNERAL HOME, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Saturday, November 4th at 1:00 p.m.  Interment of her cremated remains will be made privately in Sparta Cemetery.  Memorial donations to the Sjögren’s Society of Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society will be gratefully acknowledged.
