Obituary of Mary Josephine Gibson (nee Mann)

GIBSON, Mary Josephine “Jo” (née Mann), formerly of Wolfe St., St. Thomas, passed away at Caressant Care on Bonnie Place, St. Thomas on Sunday, October 29, 2017, in her 95th year.  Beloved wife of the late William G. “Bill” Gibson (Nov. 14, 2013).  Dearly loved mother of Joanne Pearce (Jim) and Steven G. Gibson (Janet), and cherished grandmother of Melissa Kneeshaw (Dan), Jeff Pearce (Colleen), Laura Miedema (Matt), and Paul Gibson (Nicole), all of St. Thomas.  Proud great grandmother of Arlen and Jamie Kneeshaw, Abby and Alex Pearce, and Emily Miedema.  Dear sister of  Robert “Bob” Mann (Lola) of Fort Erie, Jim Mann (Alice) of Niagara Falls, Ted Mann of Kitchener, late Lois Detenbeck, and the late Shirley Walkom.  Also fondly remembered by several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Jo was born in Yarmouth Twp., Ontario on July 27, 1923.   She was the daughter of the late Louis Arthur Mann and the late Dorothy (née Elson) Mann.  Jo was a retired office manager at Municipal World, St. Thomas.  She was a member of Central United Church, St. Thomas.  The funeral service will be held at the SIFTON FUNERAL HOME, 118 Wellington Street, St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Wednesday, November 1st at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will be made in Elmdale Memorial Park.  Relatives and friends will be received by the family on Tuesday afternoon, October 31st from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service.  Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or Central United Church will be gratefully acknowledged.
