Obituary of David Alexander Gilbert

GILBERT, David Alexander, of St. Thomas, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, in his 60^th year. Dearly loved father of Colleen Patricia Gilbert.  Dear brother of Michael (Ava McAlpine) of Port Stanley, Stephen (Annette) of London, and Jeffery (Silvana) of Kleinburg.  Loving uncle of Alex, Spencer, and Alexis.  Also fondly remembered by his uncle and aunt, Brian and Penny Anderson of Markham, and several cousins.  Born in St. Thomas, ON, July 10, 1959, he was the son of the late Dr. Donald A. and Patricia “Pat” (née Anderson) Gilbert.  David was a material handler in the weld department at Takumi Stamping Canada, St. Thomas.  In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place with private interment in Elmdale Memorial Park.  A memorial service to celebrate David’s life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 55 Hincks St., St. Thomas on Tuesday, June 11^th at 2:00 p.m., followed by a reception in the Rodney Hall of the church.  Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society will be gratefully acknowledged.
