Obituary of Thelma June Stone (nee Plumb)

 

STONE, Thelma June (née Plumb), of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, January 13, 2019, in her 85th year.  Beloved wife of William R. “Bill” Stone.  Dearly loved mother of Beverley Scott (Steven) of St. Thomas, Matthew Stone of Shedden, David Stone (Pat) and Christine O’Connor (Michael), all of St. Thomas, Stephen Stone (Cheri) of Muirkirk, and Jacqueline Stone-Wiebe (Frank) of New Sarum.  Dear sister of Doris Peppo of Redford, MI.  Also survived by 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  Thelma was predeceased by 5 brothers and 7 sisters.  Born in Enfield, Middlesex, England, July 9, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Daisy (née Higgins) Plumb.  Thelma was a Past Noble Grand of Edna Rebekah Lodge #14, where she was a member for 58 years, a former member of Flower City Chapter #91, OES, St. Thomas, and a member of the Red Hat Society.  She was an avid bowler for 41 years.  In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation or funeral service.  Memorial donations to the Children’s Health Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged. Arrangements have been entrusted to the SIFTON FUNERAL HOME, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).
