Doris was so welcoming when a whole other side of my Dad's family found them after years of being apart. She always treated myself and my sisters as if we belonged to her, she welcomed all of the new Grandchildren as part of her family. She was very loving to all of us, it meant the world to me. She will be missed greatly. I enjoyed listening to her stories of farm life, when she was a young girl.
I am keeping my Dad, Keith, Sister Correne, brother Kenneth in my prayers for peace at this most difficult time. Sending all my love, Vicki
I feel truly blessed to have been a part of Doris' life. She was so welcoming to me and my sisters when we re-entered our Dad's life - she was very happy for Dad! She told us that we were her kids! While we knew her as a "determined woman" she stood strong with open arms and a HUGE heart. She told us great stories of the farm she grew up on - of course she always loved her garden and flowers. Most of all she LOVED her KEITH - in these last few years she would have some difficulty with her words; however, when he'd come for his daily visit her face would light up like the sunshine! She may be playing the organ for the angels in heaven at this very moment - may the family, especially Dad, find peace and comfort as she is now with our Lord. Prayers Always - Leslie
I remember how warm and welcoming Doris was the first time I met her. She did not know me. She crocheted a beautiful tablecloth and doilies for me and my sisters and they are beautiful! She welcomed us into her family and that is what we became - family. You are loved and missed. My heart is with you dad. Karen
