Obituary of Jennifer "Jenny" Doan (née Herpe)
DOAN, Jennifer “Jenny” (née Herpe), of RR2, St. Thomas, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, in her 85th year. Beloved wife for 63 years to Alan “Al” Doan. Dearly loved mother of Debbie Harwood (Bill) of St. Thomas, Rick Doan (Linda) of RR2, St. Thomas, Kelly Pollard of Jaffa, and Kim Brown (James) of London. Cherished grandmother of Craig Harwood (Emily), Jamie Usher, Chris Harwood (Sara), Nichole Wismer (Chris), Matthew Burch (Samantha), Brandon Burch, Taylor Burch (Amber), Tanner Pollard (Chelsea), Cory Pollard (Renee), Randy Pollard (Rhonda), Benjamin Brown, Ashley Hartman (Nick), Adam Brown, and Joshua Brown. She was proud of her great grandchildren, Kinsley, Logan, Drew, Jaylin, Macy, Tatum, Wyatt, Sofia, Karson, Jesse, Brianna, Tyler, Lyndsay, Xavier, and Theodore. Dear sister-in-law of Nancy Crane and Diana Sorill. Also fondly remembered by a number of nieces and nephews and their families. Born in Guernsey, Channel Islands on June 5, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Rita (née Buckett) Herpe. Jenny enjoyed her weekly card game of Mahjong with friends, as well as gardening, crocheting, and knitting family Christmas stockings. In keeping with Jenny’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation, London Health Sciences Foundation re: Cardiac Care, Diabetes Canada, or the charity of one’s choice will be gratefully acknowledged.
