Obituary of Paul A. Luoto
A resident of St. Thomas, ON since 1972, formerly of Montréal, QC, Paul passed away peacefully at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Friday, April 24, 2026, in his 91st year.
Beloved husband for 56 years to the late Barbara (née Slatford) Luoto (2018). Dearly loved uncle of Krista Campbell, Craig Slatford, and Keith Slatford, and great uncle of Ella Campbell. Also fondly remembered by his many special friends. His sister, Elizabeth Luoto predeceased him.
Born in Montréal, QC, November 23, 1935, he was the son of the late Alfred and Anna (née Paalanen) Luoto. Paul retired from A. Schulman Canada, St. Thomas following 15 years of service. He also formerly worked at Young’s Jewellers, St. Thomas.
The funeral service to celebrate Paul’s life will be held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. (Visitation prior from 12:30 - 1:20 p.m.).
