Obituary of E. Mary Yeo (nee Maffei)

Of St. Thomas, ON, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, in her 80^th year.

Beloved wife for 53 years to James C. “Jim” Yeo.  Dearly loved mother of Laura Propper (Henry), and James M. Yeo.  Cherished grammie of Tristan Yeo, Nate Propper, and Damian Yeo. Dear sister of Albert Maffei, John Maffei (Twila), and Cindy Maffei.  She will be fondly remembered by her step-daughter, Jennifer Yeo, step-grandchildren; Michael Yeo, George Yeo, and Ryan Yeo (Chelsea), and several step-great grandchildren, in-laws, nieces, nephews and their families.

Born in Welland, ON, January 15, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Mary (née Michael) Maffei.  Mary was a former employee of Kmart St. Thomas, the St. Thomas Times Journal, Farming Today, and Auto Trader.  Her greatest joy was being with her family and collecting pig memorabilia.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place.  A public celebration of life will be announced at a later date.  If so desired, please consider a memorial donation to Animal Aide. Arrangements are entrusted to the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).
