Obituary of Eric G. Lowe

Formerly of St. Thomas, ON, Eric passed away at his residence, Royalcliffe Retirement Living, London, on Sunday, January 4, 2026, in his 102^nd year. Beloved husband for over 78 years to Elsie (née Jones) Lowe. Father of Jeffrey Rankin-Lowe, and Brian Lowe (Lorri), all of London. Grandfather of Jenn Fay (Mike) and Taylor Lowe, and great grandfather of Landen and Kinsley Fay. Also survived by a number of relatives in the United Kingdom.

Eric was born in London, England on September 13, 1924. During the Second World War, he served with the British Army. Eric and Elsie immigrated to Canada in 1948, and he resided most of his life in St. Thomas. Eric was a retired bursar at Alma College, St. Thomas. He was a past member of the Board of Directors of the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, the St. Thomas Police Services Board and Crime Stoppers of St. Thomas Inc.

A memorial service to celebrate Eric’s life will be held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Visitors will be received by the family from 1:00 p.m. until service time. In keeping with Eric’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and private inurnment will be made in Elmdale Memorial Park, St. Thomas at a later date. Memorial donations to the charity of one’s choice will be gratefully acknowledged.
