Obituary of Gary R. Hollingshead

Of St. Thomas, ON, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, in his 77^th year.

Loving father of Erin Hollingshead (Matt), and Kyle Hollingshead. Dear brother of Bernard “Bernie” Hollingshead (Liz), and the late Peter Hollingshead (Cindy). Loved uncle of Christine, Kelly, Jay, and Becki. Fondly remembered by Nancy Hollingshead and the Dalton family, Doreen, James, Michael, Paul (nephews Jay and Craig), Beth (John and nephews Matthew, Trent, and Nicholas).

Born in St. Thomas, ON, March 24, 1949, he was a son of the late Ernest “Ernie” Hollingshead and late Marjorie (née King) Slee. Gary was a retired Overall Responsible Operator at the St. Thomas Water Pollution Control Plant.

Gary loved to garden, he created and cared for a pond and garden at the St. Thomas Water Pollution Control Plant over the course of his career. Upon his retirement his coworkers honored Gary by naming this space after him, "Hollingshead Park". Gary also had a passion for wood working, creating many beautiful pieces of furniture.   

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place, and the family will scatter his ashes in areas significant to his and his children's lives, so that he may forever be a part of the places he and his children cherish most.
