Obituary of J. G. "Gib" Balkwill

Of Caressant Care on Bonnie Place, St. Thomas, ON, passed away at his residence on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the age of 90.

Father of Lynn Balkwill, Bill Balkwill, Jill Woronchak (Brian Anderson), and the late James C. “Jamie” Balkwill (2009). Grandfather of Shelby Fennema (Brad), and great grandfather of Gracie Fennema. Brother of the late Terrance “Terry” Balkwill (2009).

Born in London, ON, August 30, 1935, he was a son of the late Major William “Bill” and Mary (née Gibson) Balkwill. Gib was a retired employee of the Department of National Revenue. For many years, he served as treasurer for a number of area fastball teams.  Gib was a long-time member of the Centennial Sports Club, St. Thomas.  

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Gib’s cremated remains will be interred privately in Elmdale Memorial Park. Flowers respectfully declined.
