Dear Kathleen, so sorry for your loss. What a lovely tribute to your mother. She was a very accomplished woman and now I know the legacy she left with you and your brother from your wonderful grandparents, our neighbours, the Howson's. May you find peace in your memories.
My heart is heavy at the passing of my dear friend Anne who I met at St Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing. We were room mates for the first year of training and she even willingly took the upper bunk as she spent as much off time possible at her Cheapside Ave home in London Ontario. Her parents Fred and Mary Howson invited me to their home for a delightful meal on several occasions which I was forever grateful as I had no family in London. Anne and I after graduation both went to Western U and graduated with a diploma in Public Health Nursing. After that, we went our separate ways but always tried to remain in touch. I even set her up once with a blind date after some coaching hoping to expand her shy but calm retiring personality.
We had a custom at St Joe's to exchange grad photos and her inscription to me was -
To Sheila - Look all around you. What do you see. That which you find there will help make you free. Love Anne.
Wonderful advice and in keeping with her sweet kind heart.
