My sincere condolences to Bob’s family & friends. I attended Union Public School as Bob did and there’s a 6 year difference between us, me being the youngest. We both lived east of the school on Sparta Union Line and I can say I enjoyed Bob’s company & conversations. He always had many topics to share and the odd bits of advice and never hesitated to ask about my day. I missed walking home with Bob when he went to Parkside but I took advantage to have a quick chat with Bob when he was walking home from being let off in Union by the St Thomas Port Stanley bus. You were a special person and left me with fond memories Bob, Rest in peace my friend. Louis Field

Please accept my sincerest condolences to your family on the passing of Robert (Bob). I met Bob through my husband Mark who always affectionately referred to him as “Bobby”.
From childhood they had a strong bond and friendship full of fun and mischief. Mark regaled me with many stories but the “Miss Fishley incident” at Elmdale was epic. Mark loved and respected Bobby very much.
When I was introduced to Bob, his first question was “Are you a Star Trek or Star Wars fan? Fortunately I answered correctly and our friendship moved at warp speed from there. Bob was a challenging conversationalist and I enjoyed visits with him.
The time I spent with Bob was short but always enlightening. I am thankful that we crossed paths. He certainly enriched my life.
I’d like to think that he and Mark are reunited, catching up on times past.
Sincerely,
Carol Newell

I was so sorry to hear about Bob’s passing. Please accept my heartfelt condolences to you and your family.
Though it’s been many years since our days at Parkside, I still remember Bob as a genuinely kind and thoughtful person. He had a gentle way about him that left a lasting impression on those around him.
Wishing you strength and peace in the days ahead.
