Obituary of Norma D. Ford (nee Rutherford)

Of St. Thomas, ON, passed away at Beattie Manor, Wardsville, on Monday, March 3, 2025, in her 84^th year.  Beloved wife for 58 years to the late William H. L. “Bill” Ford (2016).  Dearly loved mother of Jim Ford (Tammy), Ken Ford (Susan), Lynda Ford-Ralf, and Maureen Vanoverbeke (Bob). Cherished grandmother of Joe Vanoverbeke (Julie McCoubrey), Rob Vanoverbeke (Stephanie), Jacqueline Ford, Jenna Ford (Josh Bach), Angela Ralf (John Rutherford), and Bill Ralf (Danielle).  Dear sister of the late Wayne Rutherford (late Linda).  Also survived by 19 great grandchildren, as well as her in-laws, nieces and nephews.  An infant son, Murray William Ford passed away in 1963, an infant grandson, Justin Ralf passed away in 1988, and a great grandson, Branden Pettit passed away in 2020.

Born in St. Thomas, ON, May 30, 1941, she was the daughter of the late J. Albert “Al” and Iva P. (née Crane) Rutherford.  Norma was a former employee of PepsiCo Beverages Canada, London.

The funeral service will be held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. (Visitation prior from 10:00 – 10:50 a.m.) Interment will be made privately in the Union United Church Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners or the LidUp4Branden Fund will be appreciated.
