COX, Norma (née Canning), of St. Thomas, formerly of Frome, passed away at Caressant Care on Mary Bucke on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, in her 94th year.  Wife of the late Ron Cox (1992).  Mother of Jim Cox (Jane) of Frome, and the late Ted Cox (1965).  Grandmother of the late Christopher E. “Chris” Cox (2014).  Sister of Norman Canning (Gerry) of St. Thomas, and the late Gertrude Canning (1995).  Also remembered by in-laws, Hilliard and Marion Willson of St. Thomas, and Patricia Scott of London, as well as several nieces and nephews and their families.  Born in St. Thomas, ON, July 30, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Flossie (née Grogan) Canning.  Norma was an elementary school teacher for 35 years, retiring in 1979.  She was a member of Frome United Church and the U.C.W., the Retired Teachers of Ontario- Elgin District, and the former Tonti Chapter, IODE, St. Thomas.  The funeral and committal service will be held at the SIFTON FUNERAL HOME, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Saturday, November 25th at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will be made privately in Elmdale Memorial Park.  Relatives and friends will be received by the family one hour prior to the funeral service.  Flowers respectfully declined.  Memorial donations to Cystic Fibrosis Canada or the Canadian Diabetes Association will be gratefully acknowledged.
